What this is, and what it isn't. Your report is calculated from your birth details using published astronomical and numerological methods, and the calculations are checked against independent reference software. The written interpretation is a reading: a way to think about yourself, not a statement of fact about your life or your future. Nothing in it is medical, psychological, financial or legal advice, and nothing in it predicts events. If you are dealing with a health, money or legal problem, talk to someone qualified to help with it.
A composite chart is made by averaging: for every planet, and for every house cusp, we take the midpoint between your chart and your partner's. What comes out is a third chart that belongs to neither of you, with its own Sun, Moon, Rising, signs, houses and aspects. This report reads that chart: what this relationship is about, what settles it, where it pulls, and why a chart built from two fixed birth dates cannot tell you what happens next.

The length depends on your own composite chart: how many of its aspects fall inside orb, and whether both of your birth times are known. A quiet chart gives a shorter report, and we do not pad it to reach a page count.
What you need to enter
- The first person's name, as you want it on the cover.
- The first person's date of birth, and their time of birth if known (or tick "I don't know their birth time").
- The first person's place of birth, chosen from a list so we get the right coordinates and time zone.
- The second person's name, date of birth, time of birth (or "I don't know"), and place of birth — the same four details, independently of the first person's.
- One email address, entered twice: the two of you share a single order and a single PDF.
If either of you doesn't know your birth time, we can still build your composite report. Without both birth times we cannot calculate the composite houses (they need both of your house cusps to average), so that part of the report is skipped — the composite Sun and Moon by sign, and all of the aspect sections, stay complete either way. The report is then about 7 to 12 pages. Find the missing time within 30 days of purchase and we rebuild your report free of charge.
How we calculate
First we calculate each of your two birth charts the same way as our Natal Blueprint: planet positions from the astronomy-engine ephemeris, checked against Swiss Ephemeris at 2,000 moments between 1920 and 2030 (largest difference 0.34 arcminutes), tropical zodiac, Placidus houses, and each person’s own historical time zone set from their birthplace and date. Then we build the composite chart by midpoints: each composite planet sits halfway between the same planet in your two charts, and each composite house cusp halfway between your two cusps. The aspects inside that chart are measured with the same orbs we use for a single birth chart.
We use the midpoint method, the common one. We do not use the Davison method (a chart recalculated for a midpoint in time and space), and we do not mix the two: they give different charts, and saying which one you are reading matters more than having both.
The text is assembled by our software from a library of interpretations written for Esotorium, one for each sign, house and aspect in the composite chart, matched to what your composite chart actually contains.

Your report arrives as a PDF by email within 24 hours of payment; most reports arrive much sooner. The email contains a download link that works for 7 days. If your report has not arrived within 24 hours, check your spam folder, then write to hello@esotorium.com. We reply within 24 hours.
If something goes wrong, you get your money back
We refund in full if you write to us within 14 days of your order and:
- the calculation in your report does not match either of your birth details;
- your report did not arrive within 24 hours;
- you entered either person's birth details incorrectly (we rebuild the report once for free, or refund you if you prefer);
- the file is damaged and we cannot fix it.
We do not refund because you disagree with the interpretation, because there is no score, or because there is no forecast: none of those are things this report sets out to give you.

Frequently asked questions
What is a composite chart?
We take your two birth charts and average them: for every planet, and for every house cusp, we take the midpoint between where it sits in one chart and where it sits in the other. The result is a third chart that belongs to neither of you. It has its own Sun, Moon, Rising, signs, houses and aspects, and it describes the relationship itself as a single thing.
How is this different from your Compatibility Report?
The Compatibility Report ($29) compares your two charts: how a planet of yours meets a planet of your partner's, and where each of you lands in the other's houses. It answers "how do these two people meet each other". This report builds one new chart out of the two and reads that instead. It answers "what is this relationship, on its own". They are different techniques with different results, and neither replaces the other — which is why we also sell them together for $39.
One (or both) of us doesn't know a birth time. Can we still order?
Yes. If either of you doesn't know your birth time, we can still build your composite report. Without both birth times we cannot calculate the composite houses (they need both of your house cusps to average), so that part of the report is skipped — the composite Sun and Moon by sign, and all of the aspect sections, stay complete either way. Why is it all-or-nothing for the houses, when your Compatibility Report still works with one birth time?
Because of how the two are calculated. In the Compatibility Report, houses belong to one person's chart, so if one of you knows their time, that half still works. A composite house cusp is the midpoint of both of your cusps at once, so if one side of the midpoint is missing, there is nothing to average. We would rather leave the section out than fill it with a guess.
Is there a compatibility score?
No, and not by accident. A single percentage tells you nothing real about two specific people, and this report does not give a verdict on whether you suit each other either. What it does is describe one actual chart, placement by placement, in language you can recognise or argue with.
Does it include a forecast for the relationship?
No, and this is a property of the method rather than something we left out. A composite chart does not move, because the two birth dates it is built from do not move. Running transits over it would mean inventing a birth moment for the relationship, or quietly forecasting one of you and calling it "the relationship" — so we do neither, and the report says so in its own words. What changes a relationship over time is the two people in it.
What format is the report?
A PDF of about 8 to 14 pages, US Letter size, when both of your birth times are known (about 7 to 12 pages if either is unknown). The length depends on how many aspects your composite chart actually contains: a quiet chart gives a shorter report, and nothing is padded to reach a page count. It opens on a phone, tablet or computer, and you can print it.

Within 24 hours of payment, by email; most reports arrive much sooner. If it has not arrived within 24 hours, check your spam folder and write to hello@esotorium.com.
Can we buy this as a gift?
Yes. You can buy a report for another couple, for their own personal use. Enter both of their names and birth details, and your own email address. The report comes to you, and you can forward the PDF to them or print it; both names are printed on the cover. Please ask them before sharing their birth details with us. Reports may not be resold, published or passed on beyond the couple they were made for.
Is our birth data safe?
We use your birth details only to calculate and deliver your report. We do not sell them, share them with advertisers or use them to target ads. We delete them 12 months after your order, or sooner if either of you asks. Payment is handled by Shopify's checkout. Details are in our Privacy page.
Can we get a refund?
Yes, if we got the calculation wrong, the report was late, either person's details were entered incorrectly, or the file will not open and we cannot fix it. Write to hello@esotorium.com within 14 days of your order. Full terms are in our Refund Policy.
