Order Your 12-Month Moon Planner

Required: the planner prints every new Moon, full Moon and void-of-course window in this zone's local time.

Optional — your natal Moon

Add your birth date to see your natal Moon sign printed once, on the first month's page — skip it and you still get the full 12-month calendar.

We send the report here.

We use your birth details only to calculate and deliver your report, and we delete them after 12 months. How we handle your data

What this is, and what it isn't. The dates and times in your planner are calculated with published astronomical methods and checked against independent reference tables, and every one of them is converted into the time zone you choose. The written pages beside them are a reading: a way to plan your own months around a rhythm, not a statement of fact about your life or your future. Nothing in it is medical, psychological, financial or legal advice, no day in it is marked good or bad, and nothing in it predicts events. If you are dealing with a health, money or legal problem, talk to someone qualified to help with it.

A planner built around the one detail most printable lunar calendars skip: where you actually are. Every date and clock time in it, the exact new Moon, the exact full Moon, the eclipses and every void-of-course window, is converted into your own time zone, so you read it instead of recalculating it. Each of the twelve months gets two pages: a calendar page with a Moon disc for every day, drawn from that day's real illuminated fraction, and a notes page with the month's void-of-course windows written out with start and end times and ruled space to write in. The twelve months begin with the calendar month you order in, so nothing in it is tied to a particular year.

Four pages of a planner built for a fictional buyer in one fixed time zone. The sample below is the whole thing rather than an extract: all 26 pages, with the how-to page and a calendar page and a notes page for every one of the twelve months. Yours follows the same layout, with your own time zone and your own twelve months.

A full sample planner for a fictional buyer, all 26 pages, about 4 MB.

What's inside: 26 pages, 12 monthly spreads

  1. Cover (1 page). The planner's title, and the time zone that every date and time inside it is printed in.
  2. How to Use This Planner (1 page). What a phase, a Moon sign and a void-of-course window are, how to read the calendar grid, and what this planner does not set out to do.
  3. Your Month at a Glance (12 pages, one per month). A calendar grid for the month with one cell per day: the date, a Moon disc drawn from that day's real illuminated fraction rather than one of eight repeated icons, and a marker on the days that carry a void-of-course window.
  4. The Exact New Moon and Full Moon (on each calendar page). Cards under the grid for the exact new Moon and full Moon: the date, the clock time in your own time zone, and the sign the Moon is in. A month with two new Moons gets a third card, and an eclipse is marked on the day and badged on the card it belongs to.
  5. What This Month Feels Like (12 pages, one per month). A written page for the month: the shape of the month as a calendar, and the phase that covers more of its days than any other. It describes the sky, not you.
  6. Void-of-Course Windows (on each notes page). Every void-of-course window in the month, listed with its start and end time in your time zone, rather than left out the way most printable planners leave it out.
  7. Notes (on each notes page). Ruled space to write, month by month. It takes whatever height the month text and the window list leave it.
  8. Your Natal Moon Sign (one line, first spread only). Optional. Give a date of birth and your natal Moon sign is printed once, on the first spread, and nowhere else. Leave it out and nothing else changes.

Every planner is 26 pages, whatever time zone and whatever month you order in: what changes is the dates, the clock times, the phases and the windows. A month gets two pages rather than one so the text stays at the size the rest of our reports use.

What you need to enter

  • Your time zone, chosen from a list. Every date and time in the planner is printed in it, and it is printed on the cover so you can check.
  • Your date of birth, if you want it. Optional, and used for one line only.
  • Your email address, entered twice, because that is where the planner goes.

That's all: no birth time, no birthplace, no name. The Moon's phases happen at the same instant for everyone on Earth, so the only thing that has to be personal is what your own clock says when they do. Add your birth date to see your natal Moon sign printed once on the first spread — skip it and you still get the full 12-month calendar. The twelve months start with the calendar month you order in. Ordering takes about 15 seconds.

How we calculate

Moon positions come from the same astronomy-engine ephemeris as our birth chart reports. The exact moment of every new Moon and full Moon in your twelve months is searched to the second, then converted into your time zone with a historical time zone database, so the time on the page is the time your own clock will show, daylight saving included. We checked those moments against the AstroPixels Moon phase tables published by Fred Espenak (NASA/GSFC): across 49 new and full Moons spanning 24 months the largest difference was 1.12 minutes and the average 0.57 minutes, inside our 2-minute tolerance, and the difference is accounted for by the source rounding its minutes down rather than by the calculation.

A void-of-course window runs from the Moon's last exact aspect to any of the nine other planets until the Moon enters the next sign. We calculate it the traditional way, using the same five aspects as our birth chart reports (conjunction, sextile, square, trine and opposition) and searching for the moment each one is exact rather than reading it off a snapshot. Programs differ on which bodies they count, so windows can differ a little between calculators; the planner states which nine bodies and which five aspects ours uses. The written page for each month comes from a library of texts written for Esotorium about the calendar and the sky, not about you: none of it is matched to a birth chart, and none of it is a forecast.

Delivery

Your planner arrives as a PDF by email within 24 hours of payment; most orders arrive much sooner. The email contains a download link that works for 7 days. If your planner has not arrived within 24 hours, check your spam folder, then write to hello@esotorium.com. We reply within 24 hours.

If something goes wrong, you get your money back

We refund in full if you write to us within 14 days of your order and:

  • the times in your planner are not in the time zone you chose;
  • your planner did not arrive within 24 hours;
  • you chose the wrong time zone, or entered your birth date incorrectly (we rebuild the planner once for free, or refund you if you prefer);
  • the file is damaged and we cannot fix it.

We do not refund because you disagree with what a month text says: it is a reflection on the calendar, not a fact about your life.

Full terms: Refund Policy.

This planner is for you if

  • you already plan around the Moon and are tired of converting a printed UTC or US Eastern time into your own, entry by entry;
  • you want the whole twelve months in one file you can print or open with no connection, rather than a page you look up each evening;
  • you want the void-of-course windows spelled out with start and end times, which is the part most printable planners leave off;
  • you want somewhere to write: every month has a ruled page of its own;
  • you want something that does not go stale, because the twelve months start with the month you order in rather than on 1 January.

It is not for you if

  • you only want to know tonight's Moon phase: a free lunar calendar answers that in seconds, and at that point this planner is not worth $19 to you;
  • you want to be told which days are good or bad for a decision: this planner never says that, and a void-of-course window is a window for routine and for finishing what you already started, not a prohibition;
  • you want predictions: nothing here claims a phase will bring you anything or that an event is coming;
  • you want guidance on sleep, health, fertility or money: the planner makes no claims about any of them, as fact or otherwise;
  • you want your own birth chart read: this is the sky over the next twelve months, and a birth date adds only your natal Moon sign, on one line.

Frequently asked questions

What do I need to enter?

Your time zone and your email address. That is the whole form. A date of birth is optional: give it and your natal Moon sign is printed once, on the first spread; skip it and you still get the full 12-month calendar, with nothing else left out.

Which twelve months does it cover?

The twelve calendar months starting with the month you order in. Order in March and it runs March to February; order in November and it runs November to October. It is not built around a fixed calendar year, so it is never last year's planner and there is no point in the year where it is already half spent.

Why do you ask for my time zone?

A new Moon happens at one instant for the whole planet, but the date and the clock time you see depend on where you are: the same full Moon can fall on Tuesday evening for you and Wednesday morning for someone else. Printable lunar planners are usually set in one zone, most often UTC or US Eastern, which leaves you converting every single entry by hand. Yours are converted once, by us, across all twelve months, and the zone is printed on the cover so you can see which one you got.

Free moon phase calendars are everywhere. What does $19 add?

If all you want is tonight's phase, a free lunar calendar gives you that in a couple of seconds and you do not need this. What you are buying here is a different object: twelve months in one PDF fixed to your own time zone, every void-of-course window written out with a start and an end time, a file you can print and use with no connection, and a page of ruled space for each month. It is something to keep beside you and write in, not something to look up.

What is a void-of-course Moon?

The stretch between the Moon's last exact aspect to another planet and the moment it enters the next sign. It is traditionally read as a low-traction time: suited to routine, admin and finishing what is already under way, less rewarding for starting something from nothing. We print every window of the month with its start and end time and leave it there. This planner does not tell you to avoid signing anything, and it does not mark any day as a bad one.

Does it predict anything?

No. It prints what the sky does across your twelve months, phases, exact times, signs, eclipses and void-of-course windows, and the written pages talk about the calendar rather than about you. Nothing in it says an event will happen, that a phase will bring you something, or that a day is good or bad for a decision.

Does it say anything about sleep, health or money?

No. Lunar days come up in this planner as an invitation to notice your own week, never as a claim about your body, your sleep, your cycle or your finances. There is no health advice and no financial advice anywhere in it, and we would rather say that plainly than let the silence imply otherwise.

What format is it, and when will I get it?

A 26-page PDF, US Letter size, sent by email within 24 hours of payment; most orders arrive much sooner. It opens on a phone, tablet or computer. Each month gets two pages rather than one crowded page, so the text stays large enough to read on a phone without zooming.

Can I print it?

Yes, and the ruled pages are meant to be written on. It is designed for a screen first, so the background is dark, which is heavy on ink if you print it in colour at home; printing it in black and white or greyscale is the cheaper way round. We do not ship a separate print layout on light paper today.

Can I buy it as a gift?

Yes. Pick their time zone rather than your own, and use your own email address: the planner comes to you as a PDF you can forward or print. If you want their natal Moon sign on it you will need their date of birth, so please ask them first. Planners may not be resold, published or passed on beyond the person they were made for.

Is my data safe?

For this planner we need a time zone and an email address, plus a date of birth only if you choose to give one. We use them only to build and deliver your planner, we do not sell or share them, and we delete them 12 months after your order, or sooner if you ask. Details are in our Privacy page.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, if the times in your planner are not in the time zone you chose, the planner was late, you picked the wrong time zone, or the file will not open and we cannot fix it. Write to hello@esotorium.com within 14 days of your order. Full terms are in our Refund Policy.
