Reading a year of moons
A lunar month — new moon to new moon — runs about 29 days and 12 hours, so 12 of them land inside the 2025 calendar. That mismatch is the whole reason a lunar calendar looks irregular next to a solar one: the same phase falls a little earlier each month, a month can hold two full moons, and once every two or three years a year collects thirteen.
